Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement or execute new and current processes and procedures that aid in the efficiency of managing and expanding the IT cloud Infrastructure.
  • Support and drive the transformation of services from server-based to cloud.
  • Perform research, analysis, and implementation of software patches or hardware changes needed for security or server-related deficiencies.
  • Champion and drive the configuration and maintenance of mission-critical servers and services.
  • Monitor existing systems to ensure constant availability of IT services.
  • Provide support, mentorship, and technical direction to IT administrators and IT support specialists.
  • Ensure all IT services are properly maintained and upgraded, including anti-virus, backups, imaging, and patching.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of new projects, standards, & tools, such as automated scripts and tooling, to enhance Team efficiency, performance, and security
  • Oversee on-premises Active Directory environment involving maintenance, GPOs, file server permissions, backup, and recovery
  • Provides guidance/input to management and leads cloud architecture reviews
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, which include application tests, security tests, and gates
  • Directs the planning and implementation of new IT Infrastructure capabilities
  • Ensures all systems are designed and implemented following Hotwire standards, industry best practices,
  • and regulatory requirements (security, resilience, scalability, efficiency, etc.)
  • Collaborate across the company to understand changing business needs and communicate IT Team
  • initiatives based on business requirements.
  • Understands successes and failures in the marketplace to guide the firm's IT strategy better.
  • Provides project guidance and direction, ensuring overall fit with architecture direction.
  • Develop and implement new cloud Infrastructure products and standards of operations throughout the
  • technology organization.
  • Supports vendor relationships in all related technologies so that services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Recommends process improvements to peers and leadership.
  • Supports communication strategies that will guide the organization to standard technologies or create new standards as development needs arise
  • Works as a technical authority and escalation point for incidents and issues related to their area of expertise
  • Builds a collaborative commitment to technology strategy by considering and evaluating different points of view.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field, or related work experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere 6.0 and up
  • In-depth knowledge of Storage Area Networks (Nutanix, EMC, Dell, HP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of backup applications (Veeam, Barracuda, Commvault, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, .
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms like Active Directory, AzureAD, Okta, Duo, and
  • similar solutions
  • Proficient in Architecture/Design and implementation of workloads in cloud and hybrid cloud environments
  • Design and implement migration path to Microservices design/implementation, API Management, Container
  • technologies, Serverless, NOSQL, Caching, Messaging, Kinesis.
  • In-depth hands-on experience with at least one modern programming/scripting language (Python, Ansible, Go,
  • PowerShell).
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining services in a mixed OS, containerized/virtual
  • environment, from the ground up (Docker, Kubernetes, VMWare, Windows Server, Linux).
  • An expert in automation systems (eg. Ansible, Rundeck, Terraform, Packer, Cloud formation, Puppet, Chef)
  • An expert in using Source Control Management systems (eg. Git)
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Security including IAM, Certificate Management, and Key management
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Networking including connectivity, routing, DNS, VPCs, proxies, and load balancers
  • Expertise in creating CI/CD pipelines (eg. Jenkins, ADO, GitHub Actions, Atlassian Bamboo, Gitlab CI/CD)
