You will:

• Improve of Scala/Java middle-tier services.
• Design and create relational, columnar and NoSQL database entities while consulting with data modeling team.
• Collaborate with the business, understanding their needs, and owning solution delivery.
• Challenge existing thinking and solutions, proposing innovative ideas and techniques.
• Have the opportunity to design and develop databases (Teradata, KDB [Q], Mongo) and modelling.
• UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) design that accommodates both IT and Business workflows.
• How to design and create IT solutions working with the business representatives.
• Have the opportunity to create business flows and processes from one of the global leaders in financial services.
• Set marking policy and perform validation of the firm's calculated data via IPV (Independent Price Verification) processes.
• Validate data against a third-party source and in many cases, reprice instruments.
• Work in the following areas:

o Sourcing of additional data particularly with respect to liquidity

o Re-pricing, using front office systems where possible

o Reduction of end user computing solutions

o Fully systematized workflow.

Qualifications

You have:

Department:

Finance Technology division provides innovative solutions for regulatory and financial reporting, general ledger, profit & loss calculations, securities bookkeeping, budgeting & forecasting, and tax filing. The group leverages a state-of-the-art multi-terabyte financial data warehouse as one of its main assets to service the Firm’s Finance division.

Team Profile:

The VC tech team is distributed globally across Budapest, Bengaluru and London. We are mostly co-located with users and have daily interactions with them. The focus for the squad is to automate the complete flow for the IPV (Independent Price Verification).

From this our dev group’s responsibility is the Equities mark review and fair value measurement processes. The task of the project is to extract all available risk and trade data for equities products on a daily basis, with proper regulatory requirement applicant data quality checks and fair value categorisation with complete data linage and audit trails. Then we use the validated data to perform as many of the business calculations as we can to help the users do their daily tasks so they can provide accurate feedback to our traders. Currently some of the calculations and categorisations are performed by VC users manually so the goal of the project is to assist them by automating as much of the business logic for them as we can.

For each aspect and potential external market data source you will have the chance to have conversations with users from the business side to ensure we create the proper business flow and results for each. To our great advantage, both our business and IT (Information Technology) partners are represented in Budapest streamlining communication.

The Product Control Services team is a Scala and Java shop, with most applications/services written from the ground up with reactive principles. We make use of other technologies such as Spring Boot, and KDB. We do behavior driven development and follow agile practices. The technology team is continuously improving its practices.
