Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a PLC Programmer to help support our Machinery Controls program. 

This is an onsite position in Philadelphia, PA. No relocation assistance can be provided.

As a PLC Programmer, for our Machinery Controls program in Philadelphia, PA you will develop software programs for use in test tools and facility infrastructure tools based on customer requirements utilizing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) ladder logic code, Python, C#, and LabView as well as other related high level programming languages.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Develop and/or modify computer code in the following languages: C/C++; Java; C#; Visual Basic; MATLAB; and Simulink, as well as other related high level programming languages.
  • Perform shipboard software loads on Microsoft/Linux computers/processors VxWorks processors, embedded microprocessors, and circuit level firmware.
  • Support a range of integrated developer environments including, Visual Studio, NetBeans, and .NET Framework. Provide input to software team to develop requirements and desired functionality of the control system.
  • Document issues, faults, or deficiencies found during software or hardware testing.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
  • BS in Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Must have experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) ladder logic code, C#, and LabView as well as other related high level programming languages
  • Seven (4) years of professional experience in software development in engineering and/or control systems, which includes:
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in software development in engineering and/or control systems using C++
  • One (1) year of professional experience in software development using the Microsoft .NET framework
  • One (1) year of professional experience using Microsoft Visual Studio to develop, compile, and debug source code in C++/CLI, Managed C++, or C#
