We are looking for a mid-senior Data Scientist to join our data analytics team.
You will work on building & deploying predictive/ AI models and advanced analytics to enable distribution excellence, customer experience, marketing, underwriting, and operations etc for our business functions. This role requires strong statistical modeling and machine learning skills to leverage our internal & external data assets and deliver business impact.
In order to accelerate capabilities and development of advanced analytic & AI solutions, our organization has established a regional Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Asia. The CoE sets overall AA/ AI strategy for BUs, implement AA/ AI use cases together with different stakeholders including distribution, marketing, client experience, operation etc, and execute against analytics roadmap. The CoE partners with each BU’s data and analytics teams to identify use cases and convert requirements into solutions.
This role is part of the AA CoE and will contribute to development and implementation of data analytics/ AA/ AI models across select Business Units in Asia.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Develop machine learning and predictive models leveraging techniques including but not limited to regression, random forest, boosting algorithms to solve critical business problems
- Collaborate with business teams including marketing, distribution, client experience etc. to identify business challenges that can be solved using advanced analytics
- Research and implement newer modeling techniques and machine learning operations (MLOps) capabilities to increase advanced analytics maturity in the organization
- Explore and analyze external data sources to generate additional insights for the business
Special Skill and Expertise requirement
- You have an in-depth understanding of machine learning / AI algorithms e.g. supervised, unsupervised, and reinforce learning model, coupled with strong ability in recommending appropriate analytics solution (algorithms)
- You are familiar with predictive model development, model tuning, back testing, data feature engineering etc.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R (optional).
- Prior experience of model development and model deployment in AWS SageMaker is a strong plus.
- Good communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- You desire a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative environment. You excel at making complex concepts simple and easy to understand.
Academic and Job Experience requirement
- 5-8 years’ hands-one experience of successfully working with data sciences and analytics team
- Strong business FSI domain knowledge – prior insurance industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor/ Master degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, Statistics, Mathematic or related fields
- Strong programming skills
- Experience develop and deploy AA models for insurance industries is an advantage.
- Hands-on in solving business questions using quantitative approach/ predictive modeling etc
- An advanced data science thinker, doer and expert who likes diving in to solve new problems and design/implement new platforms and solutions.
- Experience solving analytics problems using quantitative approaches and predictive modeling
- Proven high-level strategic, creative-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
