About This Role:

The Peoplesoft Systems Developer will provide development and end user support for our Peoplesoft products (CS and HCM), uAchieve (DARs), and Sevis processing. In this highly collaborative environment, this unit thrives on providing creative, innovative, and timely solutions for our campus Peoplesoft users. Kansas State University has a cloud first strategy for all new applications and data structures while working to move on-premises systems to the cloud where feasible.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions and provide day-to-day direct operational support, troubleshooting, and innovative problem solving for our campus enterprise systems.
  • Participates in design and code reviews, testing and deployment activities.
  • Ensure development work meets business requirements, technical requirements, and data structure specifications as provided by analysts and architects.
  • Follow established change management processes to migrate changes to production environments.
  • Consistent ability to analyze issues and determine or recommend appropriate actions for resolution.
  • Monitor ticket assignments and ensure prioritizations align with divisions’ priorities as established by the Director of Application Services and Information Technology Executive Leadership
  • Stays current with best practices in software development and applies new technology/processes where appropriate.
  • Contribute to a highly collaborative environment with functional offices, application developers, data operations, business intelligence, and vendors.
  • Focuses on creative efforts to facilitate improvements and effect change.
  • Meet performance standards in accordance with service level agreements set by the information technology executive leadership team.
  • Participate as needed in the design, testing, and implementation of applications and systems.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Provide backup support and assistance to other team members.
  • Meet deadlines and ensure work is complete and accurate.
  • Document and communicate changes, issues, and investigations.
  • Explores new technologies, tools, and techniques and works with the team and with leadership to continue to evolve our technology stack.

The candidate selected for this position may work remotely subject to an approved telecommuting agreement, which is reviewed and approved annually. Candidate may, on occasion, be required to report to campus due to operational needs for meetings, trainings, or other activities. Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet to perform the work on a university provided computer.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two or more years' relevant experience, including some combination of the following:
  1. Conducts a full range of programming tasks to include program design, program coding, debugging, and documentation
  2. Object oriented programming
  3. Designs, implements, executes and automates test plans
  4. Designing, developing and maintaining software applications and providing application-specific user support
  5. Experience with Integration Broker, Web Services
  • Demonstrated ability to include a combination of the following:
  1. Ability to read data models and flow diagrams
  2. Able to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions
  3. Ability to anticipate risks and mitigate
  4. Excellent logical, analytical, and strong problem-solving capacity
  5. Ability to work in a team environment and respectfully interact with technical and non-technical users

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PeopleTools, including Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Application Packages, SQR, SQL Developer
  • Analyze and apply PeopleSoft PUM images
  • Unix, AppStream, Peoplesoft security
  • Activity Guides, PeopleSoft Fluid, Work Centers, Approval Framework, AWE, and DMS
  • Knowledge of Oracle Campus Solutions (CS) and Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) functional processes
  • Experience with Degree Audit Reporting (DARs - uAchieve) programming
  • Experience with SEVIS processing
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

$ 70,000 - $85,000 annual salary
