POSITION: Business Financial Analyst Manager, Investment Banking (Associate):

This position will oversee approximately 30 Business Financial Analysts in our Richmond, Virginia office and partner closely with the Business Financial Analyst Senior Manager and our Banking, COO/IB Management and Human Resources teams. The main areas of focus are:

  • To design and implement Jefferies’ inaugural Business Financial Analyst initiative aimed at optimizing staffing resources to our investment banking divisions
  • To deeply understand the responsibilities and duties of investment banking workstreams to develop efficient standard operating procedures
  • To successfully establish an effective presence and credibility by building meaningful relationships with all constituencies
  • To maintain a strong understanding of the Business Financial Analyst Pool resources and identify key areas of development and training needs
  • To provide insight and mentorship to Business Financial Analysts to maximize client service
  • To review, check, and ensure quality control of Business Financial Analyst work product
  • To significantly enhance the development of Business Financial Analyst staff to support long-term career growth

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Active participation in the strategic development and growth of the Business Financial Analyst function
  • Spearhead adoption and integration of the function to support Jefferies’ investment banking business
  • Ongoing evaluation of the Business Financial Analyst model to identify improvement and growth opportunities
  • Lead training of Business Financial Analysts in Jefferies and Investment Banking best practices
  • Identify group-specific training and development needs
  • Provide and communicate real-time feedback to Business Financial Analysts on work product to ensure quality control
  • In collaboration with the Firm’s Human Resources team, facilitate and ensure real-time Business Financial Analyst performance feedback and robust performance reviews
  • Focus on Business Financial Analyst and Firm culture / team building
  • Participate in recruiting efforts with interviewers and recruiting team
  • Identify potential risks to the Firm and elevate to senior management, HR, and/or Legal as needed

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

  • Minimum 3-4+ years of experience as an Investment Banker
  • Strong knowledge of investment banking workstreams and junior responsibilities including best practices
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of leading initiatives, managing Business Financial Analysts, and leveraging Firm resources
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously, while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create and execute results-focused action plans
  • Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as a team player with all levels of staff
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle confidential data and situations, and resolve conflicts
  • Demonstrate professionalism, client management skills, and high ethical standards
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring
  • Live in or within commuting distance of Richmond, Virginia
  • Ability to travel to other U.S. locations quarterly (at a minimum)

The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000
