Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will join our Induced Proximity Platform (IPP) team to establish and discover novel multi-specific antibody molecules. The Amgen IPP team specializes in the emerging proximity-based drug discovery for various Oncology, Cardiometabolic, and Inflammation targets. We seek to develop and apply targeted protein degradation approaches to control pathogenic membrane and secreted proteins using multi-specific antibody molecules. The successful candidate will join our highly enthusiastic team of scientists to design, characterize, optimize, and discover multi-specific large molecules. A competitive candidate will have a demonstrated track record of working and publishing high-quality science in a related field and have deep expertise in technical skills. Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, and establish a multi-specific degrader antibody drug pipeline for secreted and membrane proteins.
  • Routinely conduct experiments using cultured mammalian cells and use appropriate assays to characterize and optimize multi-specific degrader antibody molecules.
  • Perform quantitative assays for target internalization, localization, and degradation using imaging and other applicable techniques.
  • Use multimode plate readers, fluorescence microscopes, flow cytometers, and liquid handlers.
  • Manage research projects as needed, keep records of experimental details data results, and present findings to the leadership and cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree & 4 years of directly related research experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree & 6 years of directly related research experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of cell and molecular biology, including research familiarity with endosomal protein sorting, trafficking, and lysosomal biology.
  • Previous experience with the development and characterization of multi-specific antibody molecules, including the design, engineering, and conjugation.
  • Deep expertise in quantitative cell-based assays, including Western Blotting, NanoLuc, AlphaLISA, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative fluorescence imaging using IncuCyte or high-content imagers.
  • Familiarity and experience with CRISPR screens in arrayed or pooled format.
  • A highly independent and self-driven scientist who can drive discovery efforts as needed with minimal everyday guidance.
  • Eager to work in teams and seek collaboration as required by the project to achieve project goals on time.

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in Canada is 104,000 CAD – 144,000 CAD.
