Job Description

A+E Networks is seeking a driven and experienced attorney who will serve as a dedicated, lead legal advisor for A+E's Ad Sales and Research divisions, as well as provide as-needed support on advertising-related issues encountered within other A+E teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead contract negotiations for A+E's Ad Sales division, including:
  • Direct Ad Sales: linear and digital insertions orders, IAB terms addenda, and other ad sales terms/guidelines with advertisers and agencies.
  • Programmatic ad sales: all manner of agreements with ad servers, SSPs, and other programmatic ad-tech providers.
  • Lead contract negotiations for A+E's Research division, including:
  • All manner of agreements with ad measurement, targeting, and analytics providers, including those related to custom audiences and outcomes.
  • Other agreements related to general data/research needs throughout the company, such as syndicated and custom research in support of the Programming, Distribution, and Marketing divisions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys supporting additional A+E divisions and initiatives, including:
  • Bespoke campaign, sponsorship, and product placement/integration deals.
  • A+E's own promotional activities as an advertiser.
  • Ad inventory splits in various distribution and global content sales/licensing partnerships.
  • A+E's overall privacy program, especially in relation to the above advertising and research activities.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of A+E's advertising workflows and practices, and provide situation-specific advertising legal advice on an as-needed basis.

Requirements:

  • J.D. and Bar admission/in-house registration.
  • A combination of 8-10+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience. Ideal candidates will have substantial advertising/data-focused experience, including:
  • Working with brands, agencies, and SSPs.
  • Navigating ad-tech, especially with regard to tracking technologies (e.g., pixels, beacons, cookies, and alternatives) and privacy-forward data matching/sharing technologies (e.g., clean rooms and DMPs/CDPs), and working with a broad range of providers at every level of the ad-tech chain.
  • Navigating data privacy, marketing, and consumer protection laws and industry self-regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong analytic, written/oral communication, and time management/multi-tasking skills.

Compensation

Annual Pay Range: $164,299 - $216,454

Annual Incentive Target: 20.00%

The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,

competencies, location, and experience. A+E offers a competitive total compensation
