Purpose of Job

The company designs and manufactures a range of high-precision, electro-mechanical instrumentation for use in the oil and gas industry. The purpose of this role is to mechanically and electronically assemble and test the high-tech instruments and systems to the required industry standards. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ability to interpret circuit and wiring diagrams accurately.
  • Mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of electro-mechanical instrumentation.
  • Environmental testing of instruments and systems.
  • Electronic Trouble shooting to component level, including hand assembling individual components on both surface mount and through hole PCB’s, using high and very high temperature solder.
  • Repair, maintenance, and test of client equipment, as required.
  • Good maintenance and appropriate storage of test equipment to ensure that all is fully functional when required.
  • Good housekeeping at all times.
  • Other duties may be included in this role, but which will be consistent with the role.
  • Operate in accordance with Guardian procedures and processes at all times.
  • Comply with all HS&E requirements

Health and Safety

  • High Voltage power supplies used on occasions
  • Solder use
  • IPA and CoSHH items to be used as instructed in accordance with CoSHH requirements
  • PPE requirements (Safety footwear, goggles, gloves, ear protection) – all provided.
