Our lawyers are commercial advisers; passionate about the law but integrated into the business agenda. Working in this consumer facing telecommunications business, you will provide timely, accurate legal support enabling the business to meet strategic priorities whilst maintaining compliance with law and regulation.

As a valued member of the legal team, the senior stakeholders of the business will rely upon your legal expertise as well as your ability to rationalise, explain and simplify issues. This may span across all areas of law, including commercial, acquisitions and disposals, litigation, marketing, employment, data protection and regulatory work.

Your workload will be varied and will typically include:

1. Negotiating contracts with customers and suppliers to ensure documents accurately reflect commercial principles and enable the business to meet its strategic priorities, whilst at all times remaining consistent with legal and regulatory obligations.

2. Getting involved with wider commercial issues and helping the business to achieve its strategic and fiscal objectives whilst maintaining its ethos as a value provider.

3. Managing disputes and litigation in a commercial, cost-effective manner.

4. Advising stakeholders on ad hoc legal matters and keeping the General Counsel and wider team informed at all times of important matters.

5. Getting involved in complex projects, including acquisitions, disposals and corporate finance deals.

6. Advising the marketing and commercial teams on marketing compliance, including dealing with the ASA where necessary, to ensure that adverts are both compliant and in line with the business' commercial objectives.

As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to make difficult decisions under pressure and sensibly manage your workload by constantly prioritising to reflect the changing needs of the business. You will also build strong relationships with senior management across the business and support their wider teams in delivering their objectives.
