Jack Link's is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support our ongoing commitment to workplace health and safety on a fixed-term basis for 6 months. In this pivotal role, you will have the unique opportunity to travel regularly to Australia, spearheading the promotion and facilitation of health and safety across the dynamic landscapes of our New Zealand and Australia businesses, striving for a culture of excellence.

As our Health & Safety Advisor, you will collaborate with leadership and team members to ensure regulatory compliance and the establishment of a robust health and safety culture. You will work closely with the People and Culture team, conducting audits, developing systems and strategies, and providing guidance on risk management and best practices in health and safety.

What you will be involved in:

  • Identify and Measure Hazards: Actively manage hazards with a solutions-focused approach to reduce or eliminate risks. Collaborate with key stakeholders to meet ongoing requirements.
  • Develop Strategies and Policies: Develop strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize workplace hazards. Educate and train team members to manage risks effectively and make safety second nature. Champion both physical and psychological site safety.
  • Provide Information on Hazards and Requirements: Offer valuable insights on new and existing hazards and legal requirements.
  • Engage and Champion Safety: Actively and enthusiastically engage People Leaders and employees, inspiring them to participate in and champion workplace health and safety.
  • Record and Investigate Incidents: Assist injured team members in returning to work, prepare reports on safety performance, and offer pragmatic recommendations. Focus on ensuring H&S practices across New Zealand and Australia's manufacturing production teams align with industry best practices. Maintain and improve health and safety standards to operate as audit-ready on a daily basis.

Who are we looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety preferred.
  • Proven experience across multiple operational sites with varying levels of capability.
  • Experience in FMCG or ideally food manufacturing.
  • Experience in chemical management.
  • Strong understanding of Food Safety and Operating principles and standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation for both New Zealand and Australia.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
