Role/ Department: Marketing Insights Specialist/Digital Marketing

The Marketing Insights Specialist is responsible for reporting and analyzing all marketing activities, developing a deep understanding of our target consumer and leveraging those insights to influence our overall marketing strategy and optimize our marketing spend. This role requires an analytic thinker who is comfortable pulling data from disparate data sources and integrating them together to uncover opportunities that improve the performance of our marketing efforts. This role requires highly effective communication for presentation of data results and clear requirements to stakeholders.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Contribute to integrated marketing strategy by analyzing and reporting on performance of digital marketing channels including website, blog, email / lead nurturing, social media, organic search, podcast, and paid search
  • Independently solve problems and uncover business insights and opportunities across marketing channels to drive growth. 
  • Analyze the performance of marketing efforts at the channel, tactic and segment level to optimize spend and performance.
  • Operate seamlessly between being a consultant and a technical analyst, with the ability to clearly communicate insights to senior leadership.
  • Ensure data requirements are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and understand core business processes and data flows to design and develop data solutions that provide analytical insights Oversee 3rd Party data vendor sources to ensure data governance and MarTech stack integration. Work closely with Northern Trust I/T Data Lake team.
  • Design and provide data reporting requirements for visualization dashboards in PowerBI.
  • Take metric governance and enterprise solutions into consideration; are scalable, repeatable and effective; Follow agreed upon governance and technology policies including use of Agile process.
  • Provide support in managing and interpreting data from a response attribution model.
  • Support and analyze data collection for A/B testing and personalization activities on NorthernTrust.com
  • Provide data driven insights on opportunities to recommend audience targeting.
  • Create and organize campaign tracking codes to measure campaigns. Align with all channels and stakeholders on process simplification for tracking and reporting.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with databases, reporting on data and working in an analytical capacity
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data for analytical projects and translate that data into sound insights.
  • Experience establishing measurement strategy and gaining stakeholder alignment.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and structures, data integration techniques, ETL processes and business analytics best practices.
  • Expertise with visualization tools (Microsoft BI, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio), web analytic tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 360, GA4), Marketo and CRM solutions (Salesforce) 
  • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  • Proven experience identifying and improving data processes to streamline reporting and results delivery.
  • BS Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Applied Analytics or a quantitative professional designation

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager Expert - Certification is desired
