The Department of Applied Mathematics at Illinois Tech invites applications for a non-tenure-track, open-rank, teaching faculty position to begin in the fall semester of 2024. Preference will be given to candidates whose expertise is in statistics and/or data science.

Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline by August 1st, 2024, and to provide evidence of excellence in teaching and service. The position will initially be a two-year appointment, with the possibility for renewal based on performance and budgetary considerations.

Teaching faculty is an integral part of the department, besides teaching three courses per semester, candidates are expected to take the lead in curriculum development, and other departmental services primarily focused on undergraduate education. Successful candidates have the opportunity to be promoted to the rank of associate and full teaching professor.
