Your Next Career Opportunity – Senior Manager, Tax

This position will be responsible for overseeing all tax related issues for SBA's Brazil operations based in Sao Paulo including the filing of tax returns, providing technical advice in all areas of tax and establishing processes and procedures for tax compliance and research.

What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

  • Research and document advanced issues related to direct and indirect tax.
  • Provide support and tax related advice to operational areas such as Legal, M&A, Real Estate, O&M, Permitting, etc.
  • Reconcile the tax fixed assets and work with accounting on quarterly roll forward schedules.
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly schedules for the US and Brazil external auditors including PIS/COFINS roll forwards and memo requests on tax positions.
  • Review third party valuation acquisition reports
  • Manage the local tax team.
  • Examine withholding tax issues and intercompany transactions.
  • Analyze and assist with transfer pricing studies.
  • Manage Brazil tax audits.
  • Assist with the preparation of the income tax provision and tax related disclosures included in SEC filings.
  • Prepare responses to Brazil information requests and notices.
  • Develop recommendations for compliance process improvements.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse group of high performing team members.
  • Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members, including overseeing new team member onboarding and providing career development planning and growth opportunities.
  • Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals. Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.
  • Create a culture that is consistent with the organization's focus on team member engagement and that aligns with the organization's mission, vision and values.
  • Lead team members using a performance management and development focused approach to assist in goal setting, two-way feedback, and performance development planning.
  • Lead team members to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bilingual in English/Portuguese required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field of study;
  • and 5-10 years of international corporate tax experience in the tax department of either a publicly held company, a public accounting firm or a law firm. Multi-national corporate working experience is preferred. Experience in supporting M&A transactions preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CRC Pref
