POSITION TITLE: APPLICATION DEVELOPER

DEPARTMENT: GTO – EDRP 


POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a comparable technical/engineering field, or equivalent work experience required
  • Development experience required; 3 years of team-oriented development experience in a relational database environment with knowledge of SQL preferred. 
  • Familiarity with python via coursework or experience using python and spark for data development required
  • Basic working knowledge of source control with git preferred
  • Some Familiarity with Agile software development, Scrum, and Azure DevOps for managing code and user stories preferred
  • Some familiarity with job scheduling with BMC Control-M or equivalent enterprise scheduling software preferred but not required
  • Some familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and basic knowledge of Azure Databricks preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of financial services, asset management or securities industry preferred but not required, interest in financial services or investment products is a plus

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Write, modify, test and maintain programs, scripts and modules to meet changing business needs with the appropriate guidance, primarily using Databricks and python, but may also include other languages or tools.
  • Develop and publish program, script and test specifications.
  • Perform incident management, root cause analysis, system enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit, Strategy and Business Analysis teams to understand requirements and business needs.
  • Assist with preparing project estimates for design, coding, and testing. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work as a part of a team to document design specification and test results and perform design review and code reviews. Obtain approvals and prepare code deployments to development, staging, and production systems.
  • Adhere to departmental Software Development Life Cycle standards (programming, turnover, testing, documentation, incident reporting, etc.).
  • Keep abreast of advances and developing trends and standards in technology.
  • Communicate well with other staff members to facilitate efficient and effective solutions.
  • On-Call off hours support on a rotational basis.

HOURS/LOCATION: 

  • 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Overtime as required)
  • Hybrid schedule
  • Location - Warrendale, PA 15086
