Job Overview

Role: Lead Technical Engineer – Salesforce Platform

Location: Mumbai

The Digital and Technology (D&T) team of General Mills India Centre is looking for someone with a curious mind, boundless optimism, demonstrated understanding of how to create & execute successful technical solutions, and a desire to enable growth for General Mills through our Salesforce CRM Platform.

We are seeking a Lead Technical Engineer as an individual contributor. This role will drive hands on technical leadership, help establish a scalable, secure & efficient platform foundation, and deliver on key initiatives as part of our Salesforce Platform team. This role will support technical thought leadership & engineering for the Salesforce Core CRM platform (i.e. Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Consumer Goods Cloud, Salesforce Platform). This role will support implementing Salesforce Core CRM platform architecture for General Mills by understanding business needs, assessing the current Salesforce state, and partnering with the Core CRM Principal Technical Architect for target state Salesforce solution designs that meet needs while driving clarity, enabling enterprise agility, and mitigating risk. This role is to provide hands on Salesforce Core CRM engineering execution to support the central Salesforce Platform team initiatives, while also providing partnerships to product & project teams. This role requires the ability to manage multiple initiatives and lead successful solution & project execution in partnership with various internal and external partners.

Role Responsibilities

60% Central Salesforce Platform Team Technical Leadership & Execution

  • Support implementation of Salesforce Core CRM product architecture strategy
  • Understand & influence Salesforce Core CRM product strategies, roadmap, architecture, and best practices
  • Execute Core CRM org assessment for platform opportunity identification
  • Support documentation & refresh of standard best practices, principles and standards for Salesforce Core CRM products
  • Support Salesforce Core CRM pilot opportunities
  • Collaborate with teams identify & utilize meaningful new features of Core CRM platform
  • Partner with Core Technical Architect to support Core CRM technical architecture needs for central Salesforce platform team
  • Execute Technical Engineering (i.e. configuration & customization – Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, Aura Components Visualforce, etc.) needs in support of delivery & documentation of central Salesforce Core CRM modernization, optimization, & simplification initiatives
  • Execute design, configuration, customization (including test classes, code reviews, defect resolution), integration, testing, deployments, documentation, & support needs for central Salesforce CRM practice Core Cloud modernization, optimization, & simplification initiatives
  • Partner to establish holistic Salesforce CRM platform scorecard (operational metrics & tracking)
  • Active participant in team agile ceremonies to assist in planning for new features & execution of backlog & project needs
  • Participate the establishment & execution of central practice operations & ways of working
  • Continue to build on communication/soft skills
  • Learning and enhancing new skills
  • Assist with project planning and risk management as needed

30% Project & Product Team Partnership & Delivery

  • Execute Technical Engineering (i.e. configuration & customization – Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, Aura Components Visualforce, etc.) needs in support of delivery & documentation of project & project team initiatives
  • Execute design, configuration, customization (including test classes, code reviews, defect resolution), integration, testing, deployments, documentation, & support needs for project & project team initiatives
  • Understand & challenge new opportunities/business use cases, strategies, and ROI for where Salesforce Core CRM might be used, and steward holistic CRM org principles in these opportunities
  • Lead Salesforce Core CRM technology evaluation, selection and recommendations, in partnership with Core CRM Principal Technical Architect, for assigned function/segment
  • Partner with Core CRM Principal Technical Architect to support in-platform solutioning, architecture, integration, and design to ensure solutions meet business requirements
  • Partner with Core CRM Principal Technical Architect to support the creation & maintenance of end-to-end Salesforce ecosystem architecture for assigned function/segment
  • Partner with Core CRM Principal Technical Architect to support the creation & maintenance of Salesforce Core CRM technical blueprint artifacts inclusive of: data flow, future state, current state, system diagram, etc. for assigned function/segment
  • Execute defined interfaces and patterns for integration with Salesforce Core CRM platform
  • Ensure Salesforce Core CRM solution compliance with non-functional requirements & standards (Security, Platform, Integration, Data, Operations, etc.) for assigned function/segment
  • Active participant in product team agile ceremonies to assist in planning for new features & execution of product team backlog & project needs
  • Provide effective project/task estimation
  • Share feedback, ideas & opportunities with project & product team managers for continued improvement
  • Collaborate with relevant technical leaders or stakeholders on various capability & capacity planning to support future business requirements
  • Collaborate with product team to identify & utilize meaningful new features of Core CRM platform
  • Support Salesforce Core CRM pilot opportunities
  • Collaborate with different enterprise teams as a part of the product team (Application Developers, Analysts, Solution Managers, Project Managers, Data Engineers, Cloud and Infra Engineering, etc.)
  • Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions
  • Identify gaps in processes, opportunities for improvements and automation
  • Consult, advise and provide subject matter expertise as required

10% Mentorship & Technical Guidance

  • Technical SME Salesforce Core CRM configuration, customization, and integrations for assigned function/segment
  • Partner with Salesforce CRM peers & community to knowledge share and problem solve
  • Partner to identify & coordinate CRM central platform team and broader internal CRM training opportunities
  • Engage, influence, and evangelize standard Salesforce Core CRM technical practices with development, operational and product groups
  • Lead in different initiatives (Knowledge sharing, Reading Groups, Salesforce CRM Community, etc.)

Must - have skills and experience

  • 10+ years of experience on complex IT projects. 5+ years executing Salesforce Core Cloud configuration (i.e. process builders/flow, permission sets, profiles, declarative functionality, etc.) and customization (i.e. Apex (classes and triggers), Lightning Web Components, Aura Components, Flow, Visualforce, etc.)
  • Prior successful experience executing Salesforce API & custom integrations with Salesforce Core CRM products & other solutions (Cloud platforms, 3rd party app exchange products, etc.)
  • Deep technical knowledge on Salesforce Core CRM products (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Consumer Goods Cloud, Platform)
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of designing, developing, managing Salesforce orgs with Core CRM products & Salesforce app exchange products, and integration between Salesforce products, App exchange products and other platforms
  • Proven ability to work with cross functional and global teams
  • Proven ability to quickly learn
  • Ability to research, plan, organize, and implement new processes or technology
  • Self-starter & effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize across multiple deliverables & strategic initiatives with minimal oversight
