In this role you will strengthen our software development team in India, and you will work with a team of professional and senior software developers in Germany and India. You will participate in developing service software for our Self-Checkout product portfolio which is used globally by our service technicians as well as hundreds of retailers.
In the role of Senior Java Engineer, you will work independently within our agile development process and will present your results to the team and to external departments in our internationally known company.
Enhancing and further developing our existing Java applications (Windows and Linux platforms).
Analyzing business requirements, designing, and developing the state-of-the-art software architectures and GUIs.
Creating, maintaining, and updating documentation and user manuals.
Collaborating with various departments across the organization for design, implementation and testing.
Must have:
Bachelor of Engineering (BE/B-Tech) in Computer Science or Information Technology or higher from an affiliated university.
6+ years of advanced experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with Java, more specifically with:
Multithreading
Java GUI development
Design patterns
Client & server architecture
Awareness of security-related topics such as TLS, OWASP, certificate handling but not limited to
Must have an advanced and proven hands-on experience with Socket Interfaces
Effective communication skills in English and ability to understand business requirements.
It will be plus to have hands-on experience with:
IntelliJ or Eclipse, Jenkins, Gradle, Git or Subversion.
Java OSGi Framework.
Maven as a build tool.
Java Management Extensions (JMX) Interface will be a plus.
REST APIs will be a plus.
