Job Summary Job Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist carries out the speech and language instruction within a student’s individualized educational program for Aspire Public Schools. The Speech and Language pathologist instructs students with Individualized Education Plans in an inclusive environment. This role works closely with school sites, Special Education staff, and Aspire staff on a regular basis and may work with outside consultants and district personnel as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide direct, individual and/or small group instruction to identified students on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEP Regularly collaborates with team members, parents and related service providers for the purposes of: reviewing student data, ensuring IEP implementation, co-planning and/or co-teaching Participate in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for Related Services pursuant to California educational codes. Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students, as established by Common Core and English Language Development standards Create and maintain, records, files, and reports as required by federal, state, and SELPA regulations Maintain knowledge of current regulations pertaining to special education and meet the minimum IDEA requirements related to case management Maintain a high level of rigor for students with disabilities in order to ensure equitable access to common core and/or alternate curriculum standards by developing instructional materials and strategies for Special Education students in the general education setting. Implement health and mobility supports (i.e. provide 1:1 support to student in classroom, support student/s with toileting needs, assist with health-related needs (g-tube, feeding, administration of medication) (under supervision of school nurse) and assist with the physical needs of students (lifting/ assisting with mobility, imp Requirements / Qualifications Requirements / Qualifications

Master’s Degree

Valid California Speech-Language Pathology School Services credential or California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services credential with an authorization in Language, Speech and Hearing
