What you will be doing

As a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer on the Personalization team which develops, maintains, and supports the web-based and mobile UIs you will build experience APIs (xAPIs) and web UI features that will personalize our e-commerce application for our customers resulting in increased revenues. We are seeking a talented and experienced Full Stack engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work with product managers, architects, and a diverse set of developers on Personalization. 

The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science or a related technical field and have experience delivering solutions using a broad set of modern technologies, including core foundational knowledge of Java, Spring boot, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, cloud architectures and agile methods. The ideal candidate will have a passion for their craft and be self-motivated, highly collaborative, and take pride in being part of a team that delivers quality solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions with a focus on integrating xAPI capabilities and building Web UI features for customers. The candidate should have a strong background in Java development, JavaScript, CSS and JSON and a solid understanding of xAPI standards.

Main responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software with a focus on xAPI (Experience API) capabilities, customer facing applications and support the full stack of technologies, troubleshooting bug fixing. 
• The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java development and a solid understanding of xAPI standards. 
• Develop and implement scalable, secure, and highly performant applications. 
• Determine and implements the most efficient and cost-effective solution.
• Diagnose, isolate, and debug problems and perform problem resolution.
• Work closely with Technical Lead and Technical Owners to create applications aligned with business strategy. 
• Collaborate on cross-functional Agile teams that include Product Owners, QA Engineers, and fellow Software Engineers to implement the next generation of applications. 
• Continuously learn and adapt to an ever-changing technology landscape to bring varied technology options to the table. 
• Verify program logic through testing best practices, including writing automated unit and functional tests.
• Participate in design sessions, brainstorming various options, discussing pros and cons, and helping drive consensuses. 
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

The salary range is $109,000.00 to $164,000.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. The position will be based in one of these locations: Pleasanton, CA, or Plano, TX.

What we are searching for

• 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
• At least 5 years developing modern software applications in a highly transparent agile organization with iterations, continuous integration, and a drive for quality.
• At least 4 years of experience in software development building xAPIs in Java, Spring Boot, Elasticsearch, and Open-source technologies.
• At least 4 years UI programming experience with JavaScript, CSS, and JSON.
• At least 3 years using AngularJS or ReactJS, or similar frameworks.
• Experienced in service layer integration (e.g. data, authentication, 3rd party systems) using Ajax and REST APIs.
• Experienced in UI and xAPI unit testing, functional testing, and performance testing.
• Must have experience building responsive web applications and related best practices.
• Experience in building xAPIs using cloud native environments like Azure, Spring Cloud, AWS or GCP with a strong understanding of Micro Services Design Patterns.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work within a cross functional agile team.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work well with others in a fast-paced agile environment with an emphasis on collaborating and assisting the team to meet business objectives.
• Ability to use tools such as IntelliJ, Github, Github Copilot, Junit, Mockinator, Karma, Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, JIRA, Git, etc. preferred.
• Experience with containerized environments such as PCF, Docker, etc. is desirable.
• Ability to work independently.
