Job Description:

Russell’s Technology Application Dev team is looking for an exceptional Application developer to deliver highly scalable services and world-class product experiences. You will have opportunities to work on multiple layers of the technology stack, ranging from customer-focused user experience, greenfield middle-tier services, and intelligent data solutions. You will collaborate with team members and other development teams at Russell to build full stack applications and services that wow users. You excel in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile software development environment. You will learn and incorporate Russell IT standards, tooling, and practices while working to improve Russell’s software code quality, performance, and delivery. 

Years of Experience

  • 5 – 15 years of Software Development experience required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related engineering field required. Advanced degree preferred.

Special Requirements

  • Good to have prior experience of working in Finance domain (Investment bank, Asset Management firm, Hedge Fund).

Responsibilities

  • Software Development:
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain software applications, features, and components.
  • Debug and fix software defects, performance issues, and other technical problems.
  • Design and implement software solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Architecture and Design:
  • Participate in the architectural and system design of software projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in designing scalable and efficient software solutions.
  • Review and contribute to the design decisions made by the development team.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, designers, and quality assurance, to ensure software solutions meet business and user requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, both in written and verbal form.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Analyse complex technical problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the development and deployment phases.
  • Technology Evaluation:

  • Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure thorough testing of the software.
  • Project Management:
  • Estimate project timelines and contribute to project planning.
  • Track and report on progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Continuous Learning:
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements, and continually improve your technical skills.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure that the software adheres to security best practices and complies with relevant regulations or standards.
  • Performance Optimization:
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in software applications.

Candidate Requirements

  • Full stack developer working on .net web development stack.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple teams, including business unit teams, to deliver solutions through all aspects of the SDLC required
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery required
  • Experience with Git version control preferred
  • High proficiency with full stack development skills including UI, web, middle-tier, and database required
  • Act as a primary contact for users to address development questions and concerns
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies required
  • Proven ability to stay current with emerging technologies as well as with new applications of existing technologies through work experience, academics, or self-study required
