ABOUT THE TEAM

In the Perfect Order Experience team, we strive to guarantee a trustworthy shopping experience by meeting or exceeding Amazon customer's product, delivery, and customer service quality expectations. We ensure customers are guided intuitively toward perfect orders and trust the products seen and purchased on our stores will be delivered in the condition and with the functionality they expect. We empower and incentivize selling partners to be just as customer obsessed as we are. We stand behind everything we sell and on the rare occasion a customer expectation is not met, we make things right for both our customers and selling partners.

Our broader team is responsible for creating a trustworthy shopping experience across Amazon stores worldwide by protecting customers, brands, selling partners and Amazon from fraud, counterfeit, and abuse as well as empowering, providing world‐class support, and building loyalty with Amazon’s millions of selling partners. We value individual expression, respect different opinions, and work together to create a culture where each of us is able to contribute fully. Our unique backgrounds and perspectives strengthen our ability to achieve Amazon's mission of being Earth's most customer-centric company. We develop and implement technology innovations, programs, tools, and policies to protect the buying experience on Amazon while minimizing friction for our selling partners.

We are constantly innovating and are looking for a Business Analyst to help us drive improvements in our Perfect Order Experience space. This analyst would help ensure we are providing customers with trust-boosting information, empowering confident purchasing decisions, while providing insights & mechanisms for selling partners to improve their performance & thrive on the Amazon platform.

Key job responsibilities

On top of undertaking initiative work to drive step-change improvements to our products, this individual’s day to day responsibilities, working closely with our single threaded teams (product, UX, data engineer, science, and engineering), would include:

[Monitoring & Detection Mechanisms]

Work to understand business stakeholders’ requirements. Build, automate, and maintain reports that capture key performance indicators on both an initiative and ongoing basis. Integrate these metrics into the right recurring mechanisms to ensure prevention or rapid detection of issues. Eg. Defining precision / recall and shopping decision influence for a multi-service score and building the appropriate self-serve monitoring to help program managers dive segment level performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

[Deep Dives & Structured Problem Solving]

Autonomously define and conduct deep dives working backwards from the customer problem refining the problem or opportunity size. Perform complex data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and provide strategic insight and direction. Depending on the nature of opportunity, the analyst could also be expected to derive potential solutions, design A/B tests to measure impact of the solution, and drive alignment with teammates & leadership. Eg. Understanding the importance of a robust review corpus and detecting a decline, over time, in review rates, the analyst might drive an end-to-end initiative to rebuild our email solicitation and feedback-leaving pipeline rallying partners across product, UX, program, engineering, and science to help deliver the solution.

[Impact Team’s Strategic Direction]

Everything at Amazon is driven by data. In addition to initiative or program level deep dives, the analyst will also be expected to work with other product/program managers, analysts, data engineers, and scientists to help shape the vision of the products the team owns.
