As the Coordinator Tumor Registry III, you will perform the functions of the Coordinator Tumor Registry II and the following: Leads Commission on Cancer (Coca) Accreditation activities including running standards studies for data analysis. Provide recommendations on studies' protocol feasibility and marketing. Assist the Department Supervisor with Quality Assurance Reviews by providing data analysis to stakeholders and reviewing other team members' data.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads Commission on Cancer (Coca) Accreditation activities including running studies for data analysis.
  • Provides recommendations on studies' protocol feasibility and marketing.
  • Assists the Department Supervisor with Quality Assurance Reviews by providing data analysis to stakeholders and reviewing other team members' data.
  • Suggests opportunities for improvement.
  • Directs the training of new hires. Orients, educates and trains appropriate personnel.
  • Performs accurate and complete case ascertainment.
  • Collects and interprets information on each reportable case.
  • Codes, classifies and indexes stage of disease and treatment information.
  • Maintains a maximum abstracting delay of 6 months from the initial diagnosis/contact.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • College level Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology required.

Certifications:

  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) by the National Cancer Registrars Association.
  • Work Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in case abstraction and successful completion of Coordinator, Tumor Registry II position (consistently maintains productivity and quality assurance targets, demonstrates ability to multi-task abstracting duties and
  • administrative duties).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to distinguish color

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
