Job description

As a Principal Digital Design Architect, you will:

  • Drive concept development and innovation in the area of microcontroller communication IPs;
  • Consider functional safety (ISO 26262), cyber security (ISO 21434) as well as production-related aspects;
  • Break down stakeholder and product requirements to hardware and software requirements and define implementable solutions fulfilling requirements;
  • Observe and analyze third-party IP provider solutions and match existing offers with our requirements. Describe and explain gaps to find optimal solutions for all requirements;
  • Own and create the needed technical documentation in line with our internal document creation process and ensure to provide material to allow your safety architect colleagues to deliver the various work products to guarantee ISO26262 compliance;
  • Network cross-functionally with cluster architects, system engineers, application engineers, functional safety experts, and design, verification and validation teams within and beyond your business unit to promote state-of-the-art development strategy;
  • Perform technical risk management for microcontroller architecture and design across IP, subsystem and SoC hierarchies based on key knowledge of technical challenges and development constraints.

Your Profile

You are a team player capable of flexibly and proactively communicating within cross-functional teams. You are prepared to generate innovation by making use of your strong problem-solving skills and your technical experience.

You are best equipped for this role if you have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a similar field;
  • At least 6 years of relevant working experience in chip architecture, design or related fields;
  • Microcontroller knowledge and automotive application knowhow;
  • Deep knowledge of communication protocols like Ethernet, PCIe, xSPI, CAN, SPI, or SENT;
  • Experience in writing User Manuals and defining Datasheet values;
  • Basic knowledge of functional safety and cyber security standards;
  • Working experience in international and cross-functional technical teams within a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent English communication skills.
