The opportunity: 

We are seeking a creative, results-driven Public Relations Director to lead our PR presence and our brand to new heights. The Director, PR will design and implement public relations and outreach strategies that cultivate our relationships with media, engage our target audience and boost our brand awareness. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of various announcements, publicity campaigns, and working directly with our agency to ensure that our brand maintains its leadership position.

You will use your creative ideas to drive PR initiatives that’ll bring long-term success. Also, you’ll coordinate with internal teams (e.g. Marketing and Communications) to maximize brand consistency in all advertising efforts. This lead will also lead internal communications and work with our public relations agency.

Ultimately, you will promote and maintain a positive image of our company, while ensuring strong online and offline brand presence.

What you'll be doing: 

• Set objectives for PR and monitor team members’ and agency performance
• Maximize brand presence on various channels 
• Writing press announcements and key public messaging
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with media and influential professionals
• Secure stories and pick up on key announcements
• Keep Uphold part of the conversation of trending topics
• Organize PR events to increase awareness of our company
• Assign tasks and projects to the team
• Track and influence media coverage
• Report on PR campaigns’ results
• Manage sensitive issues to maintain company’s good reputation

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, journalism or relevant field.
• 5+ years in Public Relations
• Crypto or Web3 experience a must
• Past experience supervising and managing public relations 
• Portfolio of successful campaigns you have overseen.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Creative thinking with an affinity for innovation and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Established connections with media outlets and influential accounts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence to serve as the company’s spokesperson (as needed)
