Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as a United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Civil Works (CW) Client Manager/Senior Program Manager in the Southeastern United States; job can either be performed as remote work or based in one of the Dewberry offices in the Southeast. The candidate will play a leading role in growing our USACE CW contract and project portfolio, developing/executing a deliberate business development strategy, managing existing contracts and fostering new business opportunities. In this role, the person will have responsibilities that include business/client development, client relationship management, sales, project management, and technical leadership. Candidates must have a proven record of obtaining, sustaining strong client relationships with USACE CW clients and successful sales performance. The individual selected for this position will work closely with Dewberry’s national experts in water resources, hazard mitigation, resilience, navigation and A/E services. The selected candidate will lead and/or support Dewberry projects across all regional markets.

Responsibilities

Candidate will serve as a USACE Client Manager/Senior Program Manager on a variety of contracts and projects related to Coastal/Riverine Flood Risk Management, Environmental Restoration, navigation, horizontal design, Civil Works planning/feasibility studies, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and other CW related services.

Work responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and successfully executing a corporate business development strategy to grow Dewberry’s USACE CW contract portfolio.
  • Winning new USACE Civil Works contracts (new clients) and, for existing contracts, winning projects, or task orders.
  • Leading Dewberry and/or JV teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentation, as well as developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for various projects.
  • Managing, leading, executing, and/or providing project management and technical support for USACE Civil Works related project endeavors across the Dewberry portfolio of contracts and clients.
  • Communicating with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.
  • Managing day to day Joint Venture (JV) contracts jointly with the JV partner firm counterpart and JV corporate leadership.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • B.S. Degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related Engineering field) required, with preference in Water Resources planning or management; Master’s Degree in similar disciplines preferred.
  • At least 15 years USACE CW water resources-related project experience and an understanding of USACE CW missions, policies, technical procedures and project delivery business process. Project experience should specifically focus in managing delivery of USACE Civil Works A/E and Planning services in the various CW missions and project delivery phases, to include feasibility studies, horizontal design, Flood Risk Management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, Navigation, integrated water resource planning, CMS and other related services.
  • Proven record of delivering projects within a matrix organization successfully, profitably, and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated experience (over 10 years) with developing new business pursuits and with a solid client base in the USACE Civil Works program arena.
  • Significant (over 10 years) Client service management skills and proposal preparation experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required as this is a leadership position requiring the selected candidate to manage clients, mentor staff and effectively communicate with Dewberry’s Executive Corporate leadership.
  • P.E. and/or PMP preferred

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
