About the Position

The Engineer provides maintenance, service and repairs to commercial and residential equipment including electrical, plumbing, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, painting and decorating. Additionally, they complete preventive maintenance tasks and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum Residential satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ guidelines and policies.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to Resident support needs with the highest level of timeliness, hospitality and professionalism. 
  • Ensure timely and quality-driven completion of service requests, Preventive Maintenance Program tasks and various engineering related projects. 
  • Maintain accurate Preventive Maintenance and Service Logs. 
  • Understand and interact with Fire/Life Safety features of building on a daily basis.
  • Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, floods, leaks, etc. 
  • Assist with energy conservation programs on the property. 
  • Support Engineering Shop parts and equipment inventory, cleanliness & organization.
  • Monitor and adjust software-based Building Maintenance System as necessary. 
  • Diagnosis, repair and maintenance of commercial equipment including: motors, pumps, starters, refrigeration equipment, electrical components, chillers, heat exchangers, appliances, and associated equipment throughout all areas of a 48 level, high-rise facility.
  • Maintain heating and refrigeration units, replace filters and clean vents; repair coolers.
  • Install or relocate any additional equipment or existing equipment when necessary.
  • Repair bathroom plumbing; repair leaking faucets; unclog toilets, shower and sink drains.
  • Perform a variety of building maintenance duties including touch up paint, wallpaper repair, door repair, and exterior wall surfaces.
  • Quality control observations of and assisting as necessary in sorting building waste streams to comply with City of San Francisco Waste Diversion Initiative and move large carts to waste pick up area in accordance with waste pickup schedule.

  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.

  • Establishing a positive, professional and helpful rapport with residence owners, fellow colleagues and developers.
  • Exemplary representation of the Four Seasons brand through consistently building trust and conducting best practices in all dealings with residents, colleagues and third-party professionals.

COMPENTENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge of building systems and maintenance programs including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Internet Systems Technology, telephone, television systems, gas, fire protection, fire alarm systems, etc. 
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer satisfaction/people skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment.
  • Fluent in English, reading and writing.
  • 1 to 3 years of technical experience required.
  • Prefer HVAC experience and certification.
  • Ability to utilize computer equipment and use email; experience with Outlook, MS Office, HotSOS, Keytrack, BMS management, etc. is preferred.
  • Must be flexible with schedule; able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, overtime, evenings, and overnight on occasion.
  • Prefer HVAC experience and certification

EDUCATION

  • High-School education or equivalent experience.
  • Technical and trade skills such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, hardware, flooring, etc. preferred.
