Job Description

Peacock is seeking an experienced, innovative, and collaborative leader to oversee a newly established brand publicity team. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Publicity, this person will be responsible for devising creative tactics and working directly with the press to build the Peacock brand with consumers. This role demands adept stakeholder management, an ability to present and influence senior management, and effectively lead a team with smarts, grace and compassion. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and oversee the strategy, development and execution of brand PR campaigns to drive Peacock’s awareness and relevance. 
  • Lead and scale a team of best-in-class publicists who can put the Peacock brand at the center of cultural conversation. 
  • Develop cross-functional platforms and create synergistic opportunities through marketing and publicity. 
  • Leverage your contacts with cultural and lifestyle media including social media editors at these outlets 
  • Work closely with teams responsible for influencers, social media and activations to deliver big ideas that can cut through culture. 
  • Lead and/or influence cross-functional teams to ensure communications strategy is driving ideation. 
  • Serve as an external press-facing representative of the company, evoking Peacock’s brand values with professionalism. 
  • Stay abreast of and monitor the competitive landscape and have a strong knowledge of industry trends. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in brand or consumer publicity, brand communications, or corporate communications with a brand focus. 
  • Demonstrated success in promoting a brand for maximum marketplace visibility. 
  • Collaborative and creative in coming with big ideas, pushing for innovation, and managing priorities; willing to go outside the box of traditional press activities. 
  • Strong relationships with culture and lifestyle journalists, publications, social media editors.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Strong track record of experience interacting and working with multiple stakeholders and partnering collaboratively with consumer insights, product, partnerships, and brand marketing teams. 
  • Exceptional influencing and has interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly across departments. 
  • Ability to build, lead, and manage a diverse creative and strategic team. 
  • Proven ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as collaboratively. 
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment. 
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. 

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
