The Lead Engineer/ Tech lead position is a challenging role provides functional management responsibilities for a group of Embedded software engineering personnel responsible for build, test and release of products. The successful candidate will plan, develop, and coordinate employee training and professional development requirements. This position will help develop and improve the engineering processes applicable to the department. 

Job Summary 

We are seeking a new Lead Engineer/ Tech Lead who will work on Embedded software development team responsible for a highly Embedded Software Development. This role requires a deep understanding of software development processes (specifically Embedded C++ and Linux), efficient project management capabilities, superb communication talent, and excellent leadership skills.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Interact with various product/project management teams, marketing teams to develop the requirements for software modules. Validate the viability of each requirement. Accountable for final requirements of the product.
  • Convert the product specifications to software requirement specifications 
  • Design and Develop software modules for flow meters, supporting various fieldbus protocols and other applications.
  • Integration testing with device and various host systems, report generation and maintenance support. Static code analysis.
  • Supporting Product validation and verification by various groups.
  • Responsible for product certifications like SIL. 
  • Supporting the product development till production prototyping phase
  • Project Documentation
  • Handling release management, code versioning and back up.
  • Provide customer support globally and especially for field failures.
  • Should be able to identify WBS , generate the schedule and maintain it.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • C and C++: Proficient in using standard library (iterators, containers, algorithms), good understanding of C++11, excellent programming skills is a must. Strong knowledge in Design Patterns.
  • Linux: Hands on experience of Linux, U-Boot, kernel, GDB, CMake.
  • Hands on with any RTOS.
  • Basic understanding of Secure boot.
  • Must have excellent debugging skills.
  • Must be familiar with Agile work processes.
  • Exposure to Jira project management tool is desirable.
  • Experience in Database management (SQL/ SQLlite) is desirable.
  • Should have exposure in developing embedded software for various microcontrollers.
  • Should have exposure to Bus communication like SPI, I2C etc.
  • Should have proven experience in embedded systems design with multitasking real-time operating systems
  • Experience of working with Industrial Protocols (Ethernet , MODBUS) will be an added advantage.
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering. Master’s degree preferred. Open for bachelor’s degree in computer science.
