The Role:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Specialist, Distribution & Logistics is to manage and develop the logistics processes and systems on Drug Product distribution shipments, warehousing and packaging. In addition, you will support on the internal distribution planning, manage stakeholders and develop SOPs related to drug product distribution. As Senior Specialist, Distribution & Logistics, you will act as regional logistics business partner and also be the key contact for Moderna’s 3rd party logistics providers in relation to drug product distribution.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure an efficient material flow across Moderna’s logistics network: Inbound transportation, primary and secondary warehousing packaging and primary and secondary distribution to the downstream warehouses and customers
  • Ensure processes are adherent to Health Authority requirements and guidelines, such as Good Distribution and Storage Practices
  • Implement GDP compliant logistics processes: handling of goods, shipping validation and customs clearance, etc.
  • Implement KPIs to measure performance of Logistics Service Providers
  • Collaborate with the Service Providers on accurate reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Be responsible for the logistics aspects in Moderna’s Quality Systems Record Management
  • Ensure efficient management of logistics-related activities
  • Work closely with the Service Providers, Customer Service, Planning, Quality and Manufacturing Operations to ensure requirements are being met.
  • Drive development of interaction between systems and processes
  • Support implementation of Digital/IT tools to drive automation of processes and optimize logistics procedures
  • Update and implement Logistics SOPs – internally and with 3rd Party Logistics providers
  • Co-ordinate and manage internal and external parties to deliver projects as needed to meet business requirements.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience within Distribution/Logistics and/or Supply Chain
  • BS/BA Degree is preferred (Supply Chain/Operations/Logistics or Business Management).
  • Strong preference towards Pharmaceutical and Biotech experience. Experience working in a cGMP and cGDP environment Good understanding of the Pharma industry & Supply Chain
  • Must demonstrate a strong understanding and knowledge of warehouse and transportation operations as well as customs handling for import / export.
  • Previous experience in SAP or related ERP system is required.
  • Experience of logistics software (transport management system, warehouse management system, visibility tools)
  • Demonstrate a strong and independent work ethic.

  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • You drive for results and demonstrate the ability to develop solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
