Analytics Engagement lead - Sports Analytics

EXL Service provides analytics and digital solutions to various industries including insurance, healthcare, banking and financial services, media, retail and sports. We specialize in turning data into insights, streamlining operations, improving customer experience, and business transformations. We have one of the largest teams of data scientists and our vision is to make sense of data and drive business forward.

We are looking for analytics professional to lead a sports club analytics engagement and provide data-driven insights and solutions to our clients in the sports industry. You will be responsible for overseeing insights delivery, growth, and expansion of EXL within sports club analytics. You will also collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to align & implement analytics roadmap and strategies with business objectives and quantifiable revenue impact.

As a sports analytics engagement lead, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a team of data analysts, data scientists, and data visualization experts
• Define and implement best practices and standards for data analytics and data science
• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large and complex data sets and generate actionable insights and recommendations
• Communicate and present analytics findings and solutions to internal and external audiences, using clear and compelling data visualizations and narratives
• Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in sports analytics and data science, and identify new opportunities and challenges
• Growth and expansion – venture into additional clubs analytics
• Capability development – identify and productize analytical solutions that can be implemented by multiple clubs
• Create roadmaps and business strategy
• Expertise in marketing analytics, ticketing analytics and in-stadium optimization

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related field, preferably in the sports industry
• Proven track record of leading and managing analytics teams and projects
• Proficiency in statistical and machine learning methods and tools, such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, SPSS, etc.
• Strong knowledge of sports analytics concepts, methods, and applications, such as fan preferences, fan engagement, team operations, outreach programs etc.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Passion for sports and data analytics
