Associate Tax Director – U.S. International Tax Team

AIG Tax team is seeking an Associate Tax Director in our New York office location. This position supports U.S. International Tax team which is part of Global U.S. Tax Reporting & Analysis team. The role serves a crucial role to ensure timely, complete, and accurate U.S. tax reporting under U.S. GAAP principles and U.S. Tax Return compliance with respect to the Company’s foreign operations. This position also requires significant interaction across the Finance organization and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quarterly forecasting and year-end provision processes with respect to the computation of Subpart F income, GILTI, Section 986c/987 gain/loss, dividends analysis and permanent reinvestment plans
  • Manage quarterly projections for Foreign Source Income and Foreign Tax Credits and ad-hoc scenarios used for the modeling of the tax attributes utilization and carry forwards.
  • Maintain and support SOX controls, and partner with internal and external auditors to make sure all controls are complied.
  • Review significant portion of Company’s U.S. International Tax compliance obligations (Forms 5471/5472/8990/8991/8992/8993/8858/8865 and 1118)
  • Support Tax Advisory team on tax planning initiatives and special projects such as legal entity rationalization and business restructuring to determine the tax accounting treatment of proposed transactions
  • Collaborate with Tax Controversy Group to support on international tax audit matters, including filing amended tax return, responding to audit inquiries, and providing ad-hoc presentation to IRS agents
  • Manage efforts to strengthening the control environment and implementing process improvements, with particular focus on enhancing our use of technology and development of automated solutions
  • Oversight and management of special projects and task as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 7+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting or within a corporate tax department
  • Tax technical proficiency in the U.S. International tax. Including knowledge of US international tax compliance (forms 5471, 8865, 8858, etc.)
  • US GAAP tax provision expertise (ASC 740), including familiarity with the issues related to indefinite reinvestment position.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to lead processes
  • Motivated mindset, ability to work independently, achieve results and possess strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Managerial experience and ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery
  • The base salary range for this position is $128,000 -$160,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits, a summary of which can be viewed here: AIG Benefits Overview.
