Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

This role is to deliver Business initiative on VoIP, Enterprise and UC product and services.

What are you accountable for?

1. Subject Matter Expert for VoIP, Fixed/Enterprise Services and Unified Communication which include: 

  • Manage Maxis VoIP (Broadsoft, IMS Core, SBC) product solution and design
  • Responsible for all VoIP (e.g SIP Trunk, Microsoft Teams and various Enterprise products) and Unified Communication services related technical specifications.
  • Capacity management, optimization and improvement of services and platforms.
  • Drive platform strategy and evolutions /technology roadmap
  • Develop, track and maintain platforms lifecycle for both hardware and software.
  • Timely capacity expansion and platform hardware/software refreshment.
  • Ensure that all new nodes implementations are documented and updated with the technical specifications (traffic assumptions, capacity planning and dimensioning parameters, network diagrams, signalling flow diagrams, routing tables, hardware dimensioning, etc) in the High Level Design (HLD) and Detail Level Design (DLD) documents.
  • Develop detail BCP architecture and guideline.
  • Responsible of platform software are clear of any security vulnerabilities.

2. Technical lead on all RFPs related to Fixed Enterprise Voice Services.

3. Responsible of all testing such as new features, POCs, new product launch, and etc.

4. Responsible of technical presentation and documentation of new solution implementation.

5. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Maxis for all Fixed/IP telephony related, SIP, PRI and Diameter related technical matters.

What do you need to have for this role?

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering or relevant degree
  • Minimum 5 years of related field working experience especially in Fixed/Enterprise Services and Unified Communications
  • Engineering/architecture knowledge on fixed voice network especially IP telephony and Unified Communications.
  • Strong IP background especially in routing and switching.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiar with WireShark and any relevant troubleshooting tools.
  • ITU, ETSI, 3GPP and 3GPP2 standard evolution awareness and functional relations
  • Good technical analytical skills and technical documentation.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Able to perform cost analysis - TCO.
  • IP certification such as CCNA, CCNP and etc will be added advantage.
  • Good team player, committed, able to work independently and under pressure to meet project timeline.
  • Personal traits: Positive, Passionate, Collaborative, A self-starter, Ability to perform under pressure in a challenging environment.
