POSITION SUMMARY 

The Senior Director, Sales will be responsible for managing and developing a highly skilled team of Sales Specialists and Field Applications Specialist. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. 

In conjunction with the Marketing department, the incumbent will be accountable for developing sales strategies to meet overall sales growth for instruments, reagents/consumables and service. In addition, the Senior Director, Sales will be responsible for implementing strategies to build and maintain relationships with key customers and maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and driving the North American sales strategy. 
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Marketing, Customer Service and Operations to meet, align and implement initiatives to ensure continued growth. 
  • Develop and execute effective tactical plans and territory development/growth strategies to increase market share and drive revenue growth. 
  • Proficient in use of CRM (preferably Salesforce.com) to manage field Sales activities. 
  • Responsible for analyzing sales metrics to determine effectiveness of sales tactics and growth initiatives 
  • Responsible for the regional demand forecast process to deliver on business KPIs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, customers & partners. 
  • Responsible for presenting the sales strategy and progress to Sr. Management.
  • Demonstrated success in ability to balance the need to achieve current business goals with planning and investment for future growth.
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills. 
  • Staying abreast of and reporting on industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform sales strategies and tactics. 
  • Support contracts/proposals/quotations within company guidelines.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales and field application team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. 
  • Successfully attract, develop, and retain highly qualified field associates.
  • Travel required as per the business needs. 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION 

Your qualifications and experience should include:  

  • A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a complex, dynamic, commercial environment operating across the Americas region 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus. 
  • A results-oriented mindset, with a strong drive to exceed sales targets and contribute to business growth. 
  • Proven experience in leading enterprise sales and implementing go-to-market strategies. 
  • Deep understanding of the life sciences & technology industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities. 
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce.com or a similar Customer relationship management system. 
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to influence, inspire and lead change in a high performing Sales team 
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills 
  • Well-developed relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. 
  • Proven ability to deal with difficult problems or issues; an ability to provide a balanced perspective that optimizes the trade-offs between the business financials, the business opportunities, the company strategy, and the external environment

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $250,000 to $260,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
