Software Quality Senior Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Senior Software Quality Automation Engineer, you will be a key member of an exciting product development initiative. You will be responsible for performing software testing in a multi-platform environment using cutting-edge technology, including installed security agents, cloud services and microservices. We protect our customers by disrupting attacker tradecraft so we can deny them access to the networks we protect. This is a challenging and also very rewarding position where interesting projects in security are implemented in order to protect our clients from Internet intrusions. The ideal applicant must have strong communication skills, solid analytical and problem solving skills and in-depth knowledge of software automated testing and best practices. Applicant must be highly motivated and willing to work in a team environment with very talented individuals on complex, early-stage development projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Help design, implement and perform full lifecycle software testing, and actively find ways to break the product while testing it
  • Ensure code quality by verifying software behavior (manual/exploratory, blackbox and automation testing)
  • Work closely with software engineers and architects to ensure complete and accurate software testing.
  • Evaluate new software testing technologies for appropriateness.
  • Identify and propose solutions for existing QA gaps.
  • Work with GITLab and other development automated build and code repository frameworks
  • Work with developers to identify, track and fix bugs.
  • Perform software testing in an Agile/SCRUM environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Quality Assurance (Automation, Manual, System, Component, End to End Testing)
  • Three (3) or more years of experience writing automated scripts in Python, Go, Java, C/C++, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience utilizing automation frameworks such as: Robot Framework, Cypress, Cucumber, Capybara and/or SoapUI.
  • Two (2) or more years of OS Level / Kernel level agent testing experience.
  • Experience testing security applications.
  • Experience with trace and logging debugging.
  • Experience writing Windows-native scripting (.bat or .cmd scripting and PowerShell scripting)
  • Experience designing and automating system/end-to-end test scenarios.
  • Experience designing test strategies and test plans.
  • Excellent team, communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Python, HTML5, JavaScript, Cypress, Node JS/Angular is a plus
  • Experience with being a tester in the network engineering domain is a plus
  • Experience designing and implementing custom automation frameworks is a plus
  • Experience with GITLab and other development automated build and code repository frameworks
  • Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams and/or Startup-like environments.
  • Experience testing microservices in containerized environments (Docker-compose, K8s)
  • Experience working with remote teams.
  • Experience with penetration testing tools or frameworks
  • Experience with exploratory testing and James Bach’s approach to RST
