The Team

AHL Fast Trading Strategies is the team responsible for the development of high Sharpe, fast frequency strategies across all asset classes. The team has been running for over a decade and manage a large and successful portfolio across all asset classes spanning both making and taking strategies.

The Role:

As Senior Quantitative Researcher in Trade Monetization you will be working on modelling markets and developing execution alpha together with improving our overall trading and platform, infrastructure, and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quantitative research into modelling financial markets to capture execution alpha
  • Developing optimal execution strategies through the analysis of tick data, microstructure patterns and order book dynamics
  • Drive development of our trading platform, infrastructure and technology
  • Contribute to improvements across signal development, portfolio construction, central trading risk book and trading
  • Conduct research into modelling of transaction costs, market impact, fill rate and trade toxicity

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong academic record and a degree with high mathematical, statistical and computing content e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physics from a leading university
  • A deep understanding of statistics and an ability to apply it to real world problems
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a financial institution.
  • Expertise in a high level programming language such as Python, or R
  • Detailed knowledge of market structure, participants, trading venues and microstructure of at least one asset class among FX, Futures or Cash Equities.
  • Understanding of order book dynamics, execution strategies and price impact
  • Experience working with tick data
  • Familiarity with common executions algorithm styles such as VWAP, TWAP, POV and liquidity seeking
  • Intellectually robust with a keenly analytic approach to problem solving
  • Hands-on attitude; willing to get involved with technology and projects across the firm
  • Strong inter-personal skills to enable communication across investment management teams and regions.
