The School of Theatre & Dance in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor of Theatre Education and Head of the B.F.A. Theatre Education Program. We seek a leader with strong management and scheduling skills, as well as creative and intellectual rigor within the theatre education profession. This is a ten-month, promotion-eligible non-tenure-track position. Additional paid summer work for the Cougar Actor Training Camp for high school students is possible.
Responsibilities include a 3/3 undergraduate teaching load in the BFA Theatre Education program as well as serving as the academic mentor to all students in that program. Recruiting work for the School of Theatre & Dance is expected as a significant part of the service component of the position.

Candidates should have a graduate degree in Theatre—M.F.A. or Ph.D. preferred, but M.A. in Theatre Education will be considered. A significant professional background in Theatre Education is required, including five or more years of teaching experience.
