Summary: 

Seagen is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate research associate to help meet the expanding needs of our drug development programs. Activities will include development and execution of assays to characterize therapeutic mechanisms of action for novel cancer therapeutics. The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background, thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment, have a proven track record of technical excellence, and successfully communicate to a wide variety of audiences. 

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Execute molecular and cell-based methodologies including multicolor flow cytometry, immunofluorescent and live cell microscopy, cytotoxicity assays, qPCR, and biochemistry-based assays such as ELISA and western blotting 
  • Investigate mechanisms of action of our therapeutics through development, optimization, and execution of complex assays 
  • Analyze and summarize complex experiments and maintain rigorous records of experimental progress using electronic laboratory notebooks 
  • Collaborate by providing experimental expertise, methodologies, and data to other project team members 
  • Tackle program-critical questions to facilitate the advancement of cancer therapeutics through regulatory filings 
  • Contribute to and help author technical reports for health regulatory agencies and manuscripts with some guidance 
  • Clearly present scientific rationale and experimental results to departmental leaders, to project teams, and to cross-functional leaders within and outside of research 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years' relevant experience or M.S. degree with 2+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent 
  • Degree in relevant scientific discipline such as Immunology, Cellular, or Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant laboratory experience in an academic/biotech/pharma setting 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with cellular and molecular techniques such as, multicolor flow cytometry, microscopy, western blotting, immunofluorescence, qPCR, and/or Luminex/ELISA assays 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficient at cell culture and designing complex cell-based assays 
  • Experience with lentiviral transduction and multi-color flow cytometry is preferred 
  • Familiarity with mouse tumor models and/or human tumor organoid models 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and analytical (Prism, FlowJo) software programs 
  • Ability to design, perform and interpret complex experiments that require insight into problems being addressed 
  • Detail-orientated person with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask 
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and across functions to provide experimental expertise and support others on joint projects 
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills; can explain details of the work and how it fits into the bigger picture, has strong technical writing skills 
  • Background in Immunology or Cancer Biology is preferred

The hiring pay range for this position is $83,000 - $108,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire and an annual bonus.
