POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking an individual with an earned research doctoral degree in Audiology ( or related field) for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of ASHA. Expertise in auditory brainstem testing, hearing science, psychoacoustics, implantable devices, hearing conservation, and/or vestibular testing is highly desirable; CCC-A and eligibility for NJ State Licensure preferred. Responsibilities include teaching, research and mentoring of student research. Candidates should have a documented record of scholarship and excellence in teaching. Grant seeking, along with service to the department, university, and larger professional community are expected.
THE COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS DEPARTMENT
The Communication Sciences & Disorders Department is housed approximately two miles from campus in Bloomfield, NJ. Classrooms (6), research laboratories (6), teaching laboratories (2), a computer laboratory, student lounge and study areas, faculty and staff offices, and the Center for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology are located in a 40,000 square foot, accessible space with ample parking. The Communication Sciences & Disorders Department boasts a thriving research and clinical community of faculty and professional staff engaged in private and government-funded research, including Montclair State University’s first government registered clinical trial research study. The department offers a Doctor of Audiology, Au.D. and a Master of Arts, M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology which are designed to prepare students for careers as clinical audiologists and speech-language pathologists. The excellence of the program is achieved by accepting outstanding applicants who are mentored through their programs of study by highly skilled, experienced academic and clinical faculty. Graduates of the program are in high demand and enjoy satisfying careers in health care, academic, research and development, private practice and corporate settings.
