POSITION SUMMARY

Lead and manage the marketing communications function for key business segment(s) including development and implementation of integrated marketing communications plans that effectively educate and promote the organization and our products to customers and prospects, covering all facets of traditional and digital media.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as necessary. 

Identification of and Development of Marketing Strategy (40%) 

  • Leads omni-channel integrated marketing communication planning for new and existing products, including but not limited to development of value prop/positioning, creative briefs, promotions, campaigns, and all other marketing media from conception to completion, within schedules and budgets, and in accordance with our Global Brand Identity. Media includes, but is not limited to, advertising, collateral, packaging, POP/displays, signage, samples, email, and web.
  • Lead development of content and value proposition with product manager(s); initiate and develop multiple forms of content creation and distribution, such as advertisements, videos, catalogs, brochures, website, emails, presentations and newsletters.
  • Understand each target audience customer journey and develop relevant and benefit-focused messaging for each stage; ability to effectively translate information from subject matter experts into creative copy that brings complex, technical details to life.
  • Co-lead annual marketing plan and budget for business segment(s), including support of new and existing products.

Marketing Analytics (20%)

  • Analysis of monthly KPIs; determine and implement changes as necessary to current direction.
  • Monitor competitor marketing efforts including, but not limited to: digital activities, promotions, tools, brochures, and POP; implement change of direction and/or messages accordingly.
  • Responsible for tracking and analyzing marketing spend for assigned projects and segment(s) of the business to remain in line with annual budget, streamlining costs, and garnering greatest impact to business segment goal(s)

Campaign Execution (20%)

  • Plan and develop drip/nurture email campaigns in support of integrated marketing communications planning, including the authoring of email content and co-development of engaging content assets.
  • Co-develop with Digital Marketing Strategist all web and social campaigns in support of business segment(s).
  • Support eCommerce growth efforts through supply of eCommerce content, such as copy, images, and other assets.
  • Co-lead the planning and execution of trade shows and events, annual media buy, and PR efforts.
  • Consistently research and implement new, innovative marketing ideas/trends in support of integrated marketing communications planning for new and existing products.

Manage Team (20%)

  • Prioritize and allocate work: Delegate and allocate manageable goals to employees to support company priorities and drive results. Clearly define to team-members project responsibilities and performance expectations for long- and short-term work plans. Set clear priorities for team and individuals, including appropriate allocation of resources (time, money and people).
  • Assess and Reward Performance: Provide team with timely, fair and measured performance assessments and feedback to foster growth. Provide reward and recognition for performance as appropriate. Address performance concerns and hold team accountable.
  • Build Team Culture: Consistently hold employees accountable for upholding the organizations values. Proactively manage unhealthy conflict among employees and take steps to prevent escalation. Foster an open environment where employees feel able to provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Communicate and Motivate: Communicate regular business updates. Convey information in a clear and timely manner. Listen carefully to the views and opinions of peers and colleagues.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Marketing or Communications field is required. Master’s degree preferred.

Specialized Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of product marketing/marketing communications experience, including traditional and digital media, in the B2B space. Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Proven success managing team of 2 or more marketing professionals highly desired. 
  • Trade show, media buying, and PR experience, including planning, preparation and execution.
  • Familiarity with specifying and printing marketing collateral and tools, including press runs.
  • Strategically solves problems and thinks broadly to develop creative solutions to project challenges.
  • Self-starter, energetic, highly-detail oriented and responsible. High work ethic.
  • Organized with ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability working in a fast paced, deadline driven team or function. Ability to quickly shift gears and adapt to shifting or changing expectations.
  • Strong writing, editing and analytical skills; attention to detail is a must.
  • Good eye for design and accuracy in grammar, spelling, and formatting.
  • Strong oral communication, including ability to present. Exhibits a high level of professionalism.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups of people; ability to handle projects involving a cross-functional team with strong personalities.
  • Computer Skills: thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Intermediate knowledge of and functional proficiency in ERP and CRM systems; Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Salesforce preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with an email marketing platform such as Pardot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hubspot, or equivalent.
  • Team Cooperation – maintain positive, cooperative attitude with all employees and customers.

Travel Requirement: 

  • 10-15%; domestic and/or international
  • A current passport is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 15 pounds. 
  • Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 15 pounds.
  • Standing: Must be able to stand at least 2 hours of the day.
  • Sitting: Must be able to sit at least 7 hours of the day.
