What’s the opportunity?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Data with expertise in AWS (Amazon Web Services) and GCP (Google Cloud Platform) to lead our data management and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud-based data solutions, data architecture, and a proven track record of driving data-driven decision-making within an organization.

What will I be doing?

• Data Strategy and Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. Provide strategic leadership to the data team and foster a data-driven culture within the organization.
• Cloud Platform Expertise: Leverage your expertise in AWS and GCP to design, implement, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and analytics solutions. Evaluate and recommend the appropriate cloud services and tools to support data operations.
• Data Architecture: Design and maintain a robust data architecture that ensures data availability, integrity, and security. Optimize data pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Data Analytics and Insights: Oversee the development of data analytics and reporting solutions that empower business stakeholders with actionable insights. Collaborate with business units to identify and prioritize data-driven opportunities and initiatives.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor teams of data. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers related to data and analytics.
• Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs to ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Data Governance, Security and Compliance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and practices to ensure data quality, Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information in collaboration with Infosec department. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.

What skills do I need?

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science). A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as a leader in data management and analytics roles in a company of the size at least as dLocal.
• Strong expertise in AWS and GCP services, including but not limited to AWS S3, Redshift, Lambda, GCP BigQuery, Dataflow, and Data prep.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modelling.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Relevant certifications in AWS and GCP are a plus
