Job Summary: Working closely and with the guidance of the Enterprise Architecture Lead to provide direction and definition of IT Architecture to effectively support the corporate business goals. People in this role must be extremely good problem solvers and have strong Technical ability and communication skills. They must be able to deal with Ambiguity and be able to understand and provide solutions to complex problems.
Job Duties
1. Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy:
a. Assist in defining our long-term technology roadmap and architectural vision
b. Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and cost optimization
c. Collaborate with senior management to align the enterprise architecture strategy with the overall business strategy
2. Design and implement architecture frameworks:
a. Develop and maintain architectural frameworks, standards, and guidelines
b. Create reference architectures, architectural patterns, and technology stacks
c. Conduct architecture assessments and provide recommendations
3. Collaborate with stakeholders:
a. Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, and subject matter experts to understand their requirements, challenges, and objectives.
b. Translate business needs into architectural designs
c. Foster collaboration and build strong relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and industry partners
d. Present and communicate complex technical concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
4. Technology evaluation and selection:
a. Assess vendor solutions and participate in the selection process for third-party products or services.
b. Contribute to technology-driven initiatives, such as digital transformation, cloud migration, and modernization projects.
5. Architecture governance and oversight:
a. Provide governance and oversight to ensure compliance with architectural standards, policies, and guidelines.
b. Conduct architecture reviews, assess the impact of proposed changes, and manage risks associated with architectural decisions.
c. Collaborate with project teams to guide the implementation of architectural designs and ensure they align with the defined enterprise architecture.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
2. Proven experience of 5+ years as an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role (preferred in insurance domain).
3. Overall 12+ years of industry experience with hands on development skills
4. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF.
5. Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure technology architectures, including cloud-based solutions.
6. Proficiency in analyzing complex business and technical requirements and translating them into architectural designs.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
8. Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in leading cross-functional multi geographical teams and driving technology initiatives.
9. Proficiency in defining and implementing technology roadmaps, reference architectures, and architectural patterns using UML.
10. Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and familiarity with microservices architecture.
11. Solid understanding of data integration, security, scalability, and performance considerations.
12. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
13. Knowledgeability of an EA tool (e.g. Any one of Archi, Mega Hopex, BizzDesign, i365, LeanIX) is preferred.
Compensation
The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below he listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
