We are currently seeking an Associate Vice President, Aviation Environmental Services (AVP, AES) with technical expertise leading environmental projects for airports of all sizes and responsible for the development of federal environmental, noise and land use planning analysis and documentation for airports in the US and abroad. The role will also require technical competency in developing complex NEPA analysis and documentation for Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments and categorical exclusions for airport related projects. The AVP, AES must have a background in FAA-related impact analysis as required by the National Environmental Policy Act for a wide range of public and private clients and will be responsible for completing all work products under their supervision. Experience with NEPA requirements for other agencies is a plus.

The AVP, AES will also provide business development and marketing support, working closely with company leadership on project pursuits and teaming arrangements with environmental firms.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as project manager and client interface on specific environmental services-related projects.
  • Direct proposal efforts for environmental pursuits and write assigned environmental sections of technical proposals.
  • As a seller-doer, participate in business development activities for project pursuits, identify teaming needs and assemble subconsultant teams.
  • Work with Landrum & Brown leadership to prepare and assemble project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for in-house staff and subconsultants and negotiate these as necessary to meet project and client expectations. The AVP, AES will coordinate with clients to understand and accept the project work plans as they relate to environmental services.
  • Plan, schedule, supervise, coordinate, and review environmental work prepared by direct reports and other environmental subs.
  • Implement established Landrum & Brown Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to standards on projects.
  • Conduct Environmental analysis, studies and other technical tasks as described in the summary section above.
  • Provide environmental consultations to project leadership.
  • Provide senior-level environmental leadership information for go / no-go decisions and pursuits.
  • Provide input on hiring, training, and assigning of staff for environmental efforts.
  • Regularly interface with staff and business sector leaders to facilitate inter-practice cross-selling services and promote and embody a strong health and safety culture. 

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience with preparing FAA NEPA documents and analyses.
  • Experience in project management is required with expertise managing environmental project teams and preparing complex environmental reports.
  • Experience with US-wide local and state procedures is required. 
  • Subject matter expert in NEPA and Federal Aviation Administration Regulations. 
  • Ability to manage, guide, and revise work performed by others. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be familiar with conducting quality assurance and control reviews. 
  • Must be capable of planning, directing, and monitoring multi-disciplinary projects of varying scope and magnitude.
  • Proactive problem-solver that identifies and researches strategies and facilitates an efficient environmental review process. 
  • Must be capable of managing several projects simultaneously.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
