Overview
Lutron has an immediate opening for a self-motivated, highly technical Embedded Software Engineer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Mentor younger engineers as they start their career with us
- Dive technically deep in on one of software platforms
- Collaborate with our Product Managers, Software Architects, and Functional Area Owners and other parts of our company to develop solutions to problems
- Desire to research emerging technologies to improve our software architecture
We are hiring for these following teams:
- Cross-Functional Teams across are Boston and PA locations working on creating a more seamless end-to-end programming and setup experience for our customers.
- GoLang Application Platform Team
- This application is responsible for the RESTful communication, on our Embedded Linux Processors, to our external clients
- Core Business Logic Platform Team
- This application is responsible for all business logic on our Embedded Linux Processor
- Primarily written in C++ with use of other scripting languages like Python
- Processor Linux Platform Team
- Our System Processors all run on a common Embedded Linux distribution customized for our specific application
- This team manages updates, adds capabilities and functionality to this platform is needed to grow our customer solutions
Responsibilities
Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop customer requirements with appropriate stakeholders
- Create system and software design documentation
- Implement the solution, unit-tests, and integration tests with multiple developers
- Work with senior engineers to review solutions
- Resolve technical issues, reported bugs and field issues in a timely manner
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Computer Science Fundamentals including Object Oriented Principles and Design Patterns
The ideal candidate would have:
- Familiarity with Agile Principles, include SAFe
- Experience with BitBucket, Jira, Confluence
- Experience with CI/CD Best Practices
