Maintenance Technician

Location: Trinity Health PACE of Alexandria

Status: Part Time – 20/hrs per week 

Shift: Monday-Friday – Day Shift

Position Purpose: 

The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain the readiness of the PACE Organization, equipment, and supplies, as well as coordinating work with various vendors and contractors to assist in accomplishing this goal.

What you will do: 

  • Perform the activities of the maintenance department to ensure the Centers are maintained in good repair and all systems comply with applicable safety and fire regulations and federal state, and local building codes to ensure safe, comfortable environment.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining PO equipment which consist of HVAC, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines etc. throughout the PACE Organization.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspection on emergency generators, fire alarm system, call system, and other assigned equipment as needed.
  • Meet with all vendors on a pre-determined schedule to discuss issues related to services, review, reports, discuss needed process changes, etc.
  • Respond timely to general maintenance requests.
  • Maintain and follow Safety Data Sheets.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation on request and equipment.
  • Safely drive a company vehicle while transporting goods or equipment; maintain in good order the company vehicle assigned to the position, appropriately filling with gas, getting regular maintenance, and washing when needed
  • Serve as back up driver as needed.
  • Provide assistance with survey readiness. Adherence to regulations and other aspects of survey preparation.
  • In conjunction with manager, Oversee third party contracts for services including housekeeping, fire and security protection and dietary; support administrative and center specific services such as the provision of system services including facilities planning, information technology, and telecommunications.
  • Assist with other related duties as assigned by Manager and/or Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Applicable trade school education or associates degree preferred. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of motor vehicles, computers, and other electrical and non-electrical equipment.
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing required.
  • Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work parameters and adapt to work priorities that frequently change. Must be able to work on a variety of tasks/projects in physical or virtual environments that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Primarily works inside with frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 20 pounds if applicable.
  • Physical mobility that includes movement from place to place.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Physical agility, that includes ability to maneuver body while in place.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot.
  • Must possess the above ability with or without the use of prosthetics that will enable adequate functionality so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
