The Director of Group Sales will oversee sales strategy, tactics, and action implementations to ensure sales goals are met

and maximize hotel revenues. Will oversee the sales managers and administrative staff to providing training and 

development. This role involves recruitment and hiring of staff, as well as collaborating with other departments within the 

hotel such as Sales Managers, Revenue Management, Reservations, Catering and Conference Services. Communication 

and organizational skills are essential, as the Director will be responsible reviewing the group contractual agreement 

process, quoting rates, sending referrals, setting traces, and managing retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts. 

The starting salary for this position is $106,000, with compensation based on experience. The ideal candidate will have at 

least 5 years of luxury hotel group sales leadership experience, with a proven track record of achieving goals, retaining 

clients and will carry a sales quota. 

This role will require travel within and outside of the state for conferences, tradeshows, networking, and property visits.

Based in the San Francisco Bay area preferred.

Qualifications

  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience (typically with Hyatt) 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • With opening hotels, previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of success
  • Results driven, energetic, and focused.
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
