Job Description Summary

This is a recruitment for a short-term/temporary position. This recruitment will be open until the position is filled.

Provides support for the Kinesiology Division through monitoring and facilitating the safe use of the college's weight room for recreational use. May assist the Division through marketing outreach to the campus community. This position will NOT be prescribing exercise or fitness programs nor providing weightlifting expertise.

Essential Functions & Qualifications

Required:

• Can work independently to support the basic, safe use of the weight room facility for students, staff, and faculty. Can monitor access to the facility as well as follow opening, closing, and safety protocol for college facilities.
• Must have at least one year of weight training or fitness experience and be CPR certified.
• Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of Continuing Education students.
• Facility hours will be approximately Monday - Thursday, 4:00-7:00 PM

Desirable:

• Experience working in a fitness setting.

Additional Information

This is a short-term/temporary position. Students currently enrolled at Cuesta College will be given priority.
