Job overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to spearhead our efforts in establishing and expanding our tech center in Amsterdam.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining high-performing engineering teams in order to provide an awesome experience for our 500,000+ users and growing Siilo's network of healthcare professionals. You will be working with the original founding team of Siilo, which means you’ll join the best of the best in terms of building messengers and networks for healthcare professionals in the world. 

You will also be in charge of growing our tech center in Amsterdam, recruiting, mentoring, managing and structuring our talented and diverse engineering team. The team currently consists of 15 engineers with plans to double in size next year. 

You will foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages learning and growth. You will collaborate on a daily basis with internal and external stakeholders, including our engineering teams based in multiple countries (France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands).

Key attributes we are looking for

  • Management: You have proven experience of building multiple engineering teams and mentoring managers and senior individual contributors working on multiple different stacks. 
  • Hiring: You know how to define and put a sourcing strategy to grow our engineering team in Amsterdam in alignment with our Doctolib culture.
  • Technical leader: You have a strong technical background in software engineering, architecture, distributed systems, and project management. Preferably in architectures using native mobile clients and self-managed server applications.
  • User centricity: You empathize with users, understand their needs, and champion their voice throughout the development process. You have a track record of delivering projects that drive tangible results and move the needle.
  • Strategic thinking: You have the ability to see the big picture and align your team's efforts with the broader company strategy.
  • Impact: You think big and understand how to design and build systems that can scale gracefully to meet the demands of a growing user base. You have a strong sense of ownership with a bias for action.
