Fathom is on a mission to use AI to understand and structure the world’s medical data, starting by making sense of the terabytes of clinician notes contained within the electronic health records of the world’s largest health systems. Our deep learning engine automates the translation of patient records into the billing codes used for healthcare provider reimbursement, a process today that costs hospitals in the US $15B+ annually and tens of billions more in errors and denied claims. We are a venture-backed company that completed a Series B round of financing for $46M in late 2022.

Fathom is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and entrepreneurial colleague to join our team as a Strategic Client Associate based in the Bay area. As a member of the Customer Success team, you will build, support, and scale our enterprise-level client success programs as we continue to activate Fathom's cutting-edge technology into the nation’s largest health systems, physician groups, and billing companies. You will also be integral to building Fathom’s processes and systems at scale: playbooks, feedback loops, and performance reporting, and cross-functional initiatives on Fathom’s commercial teams. This role calls for a highly organized problem solver, multi-tasker, project manager and operator with a strong bias towards execution and iteration. You are also someone who is fluent with cutting-edge AI productivity tools. You will work with our high-performing team to address new and exciting challenges each day as Fathom works to rapidly modernize a largely immutable industry.

Your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, owning, and maintaining a continual customer feedback process for our clients and internal teams
  • Operationalizing, improving, and automating internal processes and initiatives such as client dashboards, metrics, reporting, invoicing, and cross-functional ad-hoc requests
  • Functioning as a Fathom operations and product expert, including translating technical communications between clients and our product and engineering teams
  • Client onboarding, coordination, analytics and account management
  • Reviewing Fathom’s weekly performance to identify trends and report opportunities for improvement

We are looking for a teammate with:

  • 3+ years of strategy, operations, and client experience working with director-level through C-level clients
  • Management consulting or investment banking experience, including client relationship management, with focus on revenue cycle management, healthcare documentation management and/or healthcare operations
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a startup environment
  • Highly proficient in driving dynamic problem-solving through first principles thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and re-prioritize based on strategic needs or client demands under pressure in a start-up environment
  • Tech savviness, mastery of spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel) and other productivity software like G-suite, and an active experimenter with AI native productivity tools

Peers would describe you as:

  • A problem-solver: you leverage the tools you have at your disposal to handle novel and complex problems. You love to solve various types of puzzles. You always seek to understand the WHAT, WHY, and HOW
  • High achiever and goal-oriented: you are enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, a self-starter and excited to grow in a company that emphasizes eagerness to learn and improve.
  • Growth mindset: you are curious about people, processes, and technology. You want to do more and you want to have a higher impact in your day to day work. You are coachable, interested in personal development, and want to dive into the world of healthcare technology
  • Empathic: you can consistently diagnose other people’s point of view and turn contention into collaboration. You run towards difficult conversations with humility and understanding first. You seek positive resolutions
  • A superior communicator: you are comfortable communicating opposing viewpoints for complicated scenarios into well-organized, opinionated, and solution-oriented reports, verbal and/or written

Bonus points if you have:

  • Deep interest in healthcare
  • Worked with revenue cycle organizations before and understand the vernacular
  • Relevant medical coding, clinical operations or healthcare knowledge and expertise
  • Demonstrable experience leading big data projects and/or prior experience with complex data integrations

Salary range:

  • $100 000 - $140 000 USD
