The Senior Strategy Manager will be a senior leader in the team delivering the following:

  • Thought leadership in the area of Customer & Channel strategy, including defining future of Optus customer engagement across multiple channels, innovative channel models.
  • Insight into trends in customer interactions and expectations.
  • Incubating new digital customer & channel ideas to close the gap on and exceed consumer expectation
  • Strategic portfolio management & ownership, including ensuring strategic plans align to & support our vision, driving outcomes that further differentiate Optus
  • Initiative Ownership of critical initiatives
  • Designing and defining customer & Channel experiences for the customer moments that matter.
  • Using insights from omni channel analytics, insights from customer experience, analysis of Consumer trends and individual Consumer strategies, product and marketing strategies and plans and the digital capability roadmap.
  • Driving the digital capability roadmap, Channel touch points, (including retail, contact centres, sales, product etc.), digital adoption initiatives, marketing and communications activity for Customer Success and the individual Customer Success stream strategies.

Why you are our next Senior Strategy Manager

You will have considerable expertise in Strategy, Digital Strategy formulation and execution; an ability to establish relationships and influence Senior Executives; strong people and program management skills; and superb written and oral communication.

You will have the ability to work closely with the other functional areas of the division to obtain information, build consensus and validate analysis and findings.

  • 10 years broad commercial experience in a fast paced, technologically sophisticated and competitive industry, with at least 2 years experience in strategy consulting and 1-2 year experience in the Telco/Media Industry
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence at a divisional director level (e.g. MD, VP, Commercial Director)
  • Passion for digital, big data, analytics user-centered design and change agility
  • Strong working knowledge of business strategy and finance
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving to a high level
  • Highly proficient in the hypothesis led approach to problem solving and strategy development. Superior knowledge and use of a wide range of strategic frameworks and methodologies. Skilled at translating high-level strategy into detailed implementation plans
  • Rapidly grasps abstract concepts with complex linkages. Ability to see the “big picture” and gauge downstream impacts of strategy initiatives
  • Excellent financial modeling and project evaluation skills
  • Highly organised
  • Highly proficient at structuring and simplifying complex ideas in written and verbal communications. Confident and experienced presenter to Senior levels
  • Drives for results - proven ability to operate effectively in a variety of different environments and respond appropriately to unexpected circumstances and deal with ambiguity in an appropriate and decisive manner.
  • Collaborative & collegiate - able to build strong relationships with management teams and influence for desired business outcomes
  • Ability to understand needs of the customer and prioritise these needs in problem solving
  • Proven ability to deliver under time constraints and external pressures
