Supplier Diversity Program Manager

Essential Duties

1. Strategic development and execution to design, develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive supplier diversity program aligned with the University’s goals and diversity objectives. 2. Define the program scope and establish baseline spend, metrics, reporting, and growth strategies. 3. Create a multi-year strategic roadmap for supplier diversity initiatives, setting clear objectives, milestones, and success metrics. 4. Collaborate with senior leadership and relevant departments to strategically integrate supplier diversity practices into existing processes. 5. Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to integrate diverse suppliers into the bidding process and supply chain, fostering long-term partnerships. 6. Stay current with industry best practices and trends related to supplier diversity. 7. Act as Yale’s supplier diversity champion, driving strategic growth and internal support. 8. Build strong relationships with diverse suppliers, advocacy organizations, and community partners to enhance the supplier network and foster long-term partnerships. 9. Establish metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure the effectiveness and impact of the supplier diversity program. 10. Monitor and track key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the supplier diversity program. 11. Collect and analyze data related to each supplier diversity initiative, presenting progress reports to leadership and stakeholders. 12. Manage ongoing partnerships in the supplier diversity community and involvement with national or local chapters of major diversity organizations (e.g. SBA, NMSDC, WBENC, etc.).

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree & at least 7 years relevant supplier diversity experience or an equivalent combination of experience & education.

Position Focus:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Supplier Diversity Program Manager to join our Procurement Department. As the Supplier Diversity Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our supplier diversity program, fostering relationships with diverse suppliers, and promoting inclusivity within our procurement of goods and services. You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the success and growth of our supplier diversity program. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, the Supplier Diversity Program Manager will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive supplier diversity program aligned with the University’s strategic goals and diversity objectives. The Supplier Diversity Program Manager will act as Yale’s supplier diversity champion driving strategic growth, creating a multi-year strategic roadmap for supplier diversity initiatives, setting clear objectives, milestones, and success metrics. Procurement’s Mission is to lead and provide stewardship to the Yale community in sourcing the right products and services, at the right price, on-time, in support of the University’s Mission and Policies. As a strategic partner, we will collaborate and provide leading practices in order to deliver high quality expertise, significant value, and excellent customer service. This role will be a trusted resource for the Yale Community, who will be relied upon for guidance through strategic planning and best-in-class approach to sourcing. Required Licenses or Certifications

Certification in supplier diversity or diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Certification in supplier diversity or diversity and inclusion. Experience in developing and executing supplier diversity programs in a corporate setting. Experience with large-scale change management Previous engagement with supplier diversity organizations and networks.
